Growing up undocumented, Dalia (she/her) understands the daily implications that lack of legal status has on immigrant communities. She believes that the right to move freely is fundamental to living a dignified life.
Dalia joined Pangea in May 2021. Before joining Pangea, she worked as an immigration paralegal for a few years providing support for immigration attorneys throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. She also worked as a Spanish interpreter for Partnerships for Trauma Recovery. Dalia was part of the 2016-2017 DreamSF Fellowship cohort at the San Francisco Office of Civic Engagement where she completed her fellowship at Pangea. It was during this fellowship where Dalia learned about deportation defense and where she developed a passion for working directly with immigrant communities.
Dalia received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley (’20). At Berkeley, Dalia was a program director for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program which provides free tax filing services to low income earning individuals. During her time at Berkeley, she worked part-time as a Legal Services Receptionist at the East Bay Community Law Center.
Dalia speaks English and Spanish.
